CAE is a global leader in the delivery of training for the defence, civil aviation, and healthcare markets. Backed by a 70-year record of innovation, CAE is a globally-recognized training systems integrator, committed to providing customers world-class training centres, training services, and a comprehensive portfolio of simulation products. In partnership with Leonardo, CAE has developed a Full Mission Simulator (FMS) for the Norwegian AW101 search and rescue helicopter, and is the most experienced training provider to meet Canada’s FMS requirement for post modification training.

CAE designs and manufactures some of the most complex full-mission simulators in the world. A full-mission simulator (FMS) accurately simulates the aircraft and the mission environment in which it will operate. The simulator will recreate sounds, motion, visual scenes, instrument presentations and all other systems in order to create a realistic flight/mission training environment. The aircrew will be able to train for landing, takeoff, SAR duties, night flight, formation flight and cockpit familiarization in normal, adverse and emergency situations. The handling characteristics of the simulator represent actual aircraft characteristics based on available flight data and input from experienced pilots. In addition, the full-mission simulator will have the ability to network with other synthetic training devices in a distributed mission operations environment so military forces can "train as they fight".
